INCORPORATING DRONES INTO K9 OPERATIONS
This course is an examination and familiarization of how Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or “drones” can effectively be integrated into an agencies’ tactical environment. Students within the course will learn about aeronautical principles, the various mission profiles, and the regulatory environment. The goal is to foster a sense of common understanding among K9 Handlers in how to utilize an emerging tool in support of K9 operations. This will demonstrate how to effectively set the conditions in your favor and to maintain situational awareness to mitigate risk to K9 teams and allow for safer apprehensions. This is a great tool for departments that do not have helicopter platforms to support their operations.
