Tactical rappeling and rope access (2 DAy course)

TACTICAL RAPPELLING/ ROPE ACCESS AND AIR ASSAULT

Handlers will review knots, improvised anchors and on-rope fundamentals. Primary training focus will teach handlers to infiltrate via rappelling (from structures and aircraft), rescue themselves, teammates and their K9 partners from injuries or hostile situations in a timely and practical manner with light weight equipment. You will not be utilizing the bulky ropes and equipment of the past. The course will culminate with aerial insertion w/ K9 via helicopter. (This will be determined by students progression during course for safety reasons)


EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

-Training uniform (older uniforms recommended, as they will get abused)

-Gloves

-Appropriate boots/footwear

-Helmet, bump cap

-Current team rope equipment

-Harness, hardware, rope etc. (Revac will provide all equipment for training if students do not have equipment available)

-Plate carriers/Vests (no magazines, ammunition etc) Training weapons if available.

-Approved K9 Harness that is load bearing ie. TYR Tactical, K9 Storm, etc.
