Todd Mona

Todd has been a Police Officer with the East Hartford Police Department in Connecticut since 2002. He became a K9 unit handler in 2006 and currently works a Dual Purpose Patrol/Gun detection K9. Todd has been a Connecticut Police Work Dog Association Maintenance Trainer since 2014, became a CPWDA Trainer in 2014, and a NAPWDA Trainer in 2022. He has also served as the Lead Trainer/Instructor at Capital Region K9 Training Academy and in services since 2014.

E-COLLAR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

The E-collar can be used in several fashions, in this class Todd will show you how he introduces the dog to the collar, uses the collar to over lay leash work for a faster learning process, why its important to use different levels on the collar during different exercises and how the dogs drives play a factor in operating the collar. Most importantly how to use the collar to achieve a consistent out off the bite without ruining the grip or diminishing the will to bite.
