Chris was born and raised in northern Georgia just about 50 minutes north of Atlanta. Chris graduated high school in 2001. While working a normal nine to five, he watched with anger in disbelief, the terror attacks that occurred on September 11th . That same week, he went to his local US Army Recruiting station and joined the Army. He served seven years on active duty with three 18-month deployments to the middle east. During these deployments, he developed a passion for dog training. His military career was cut short when the vehicle he was in got struck by a roadside bomb just outside Sadr City. In 2008 Chris joined the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police department where he served on a multitude of different units from Crime Suppression Unit, K-9 Unit, Traffic Unit and the S.W.A.T Team as a Team Leader. In 2017 Chris accepted a job as the Multi-Purpose Canine Master Trainer (MPC) for the 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning Georgia. Chris is responsible for the procurement and daily maintenance training of all dog teams assigned. In his free time, Chris travels around the country assisting SWAT and K-9 Teams on advance deployment tactics. Since 2001, Chris has been either serving our Country or his Community. In addition to serving as a Special Operations Dog Trainer, Chris is an active Deputy Sheriff and the owner and head trainer for North Georgia K9.
TACTICAL LASER DIRECTIONAL
This course familiarizes handers with the training methodology utilized to teach their K9 how to take direction from a visible laser. This capability enables handlers to deploy their partners to an exact location. It can be utilized in both patrol and detection capacities. The ability to direct your K9 with a laser allows you to conduct operations in a safer manner and expedites search times. It's an invaluable skill set to have in your capabilities.
